If youve never been wedding dress shopping for yourself or anyone else, it can seem a little intimidating. We have seen a lot of brides come through the doors over the years and we want to share some of the dos and donts to saying yes to your perfect dress.

Do's and Don'ts to Saying Yes

DO make an appointment.

Our Bridal Salon is very busy, especially on the weekends.  We highly suggest making an appointment to reserve your room and personal stylist. We welcome walk-ins but to guarantee a fitting and stylist please call us or book an appointment online. Weekdays are more relaxed in our store so making an appointment during the week can also be a great idea.  Our Gallery even offers VIP appointment experiences where we close down the entire store for you and will even provide champagne and light bites!

DON'T bring an entourage.

We want this to be an exciting experience for you, so think of a few close friends or family members who will be able to be honest yet supportive and bring them along for the fun!  We suggest bringing a group of 4 people or less so youre not overwhelmed with opinions. Remember that at the end of the day its about finding your dream gown, so bring people who make you feel comfortable and understand your bridal vision.

DO establish a budget.

Knowing and being honest about your budget is really helpful for your stylist, we want to be respectful of your budget to find you your dress. It can actually make the process a lot easier because you may rule out some of the seemingly endless options! Remember alteration is an additional cost so factor that into  your budget with your stylist.

DONT go on an empty stomach.

It can be tempting to want to come in on an empty stomach so you look your best when trying on dresses. Dress shopping is no small task though and without enough energy you can be left feeling tired, disgruntled, and just plain hangry. That wont make the day any fun at all!  If you dont want to eat a full meal before coming in have a mom or bridesmaid keep some healthy snacks on hand for you.

DO trust your stylist and have an open mind.

More than likely your stylist has been doing their job for many years and has seen countless brides find the dress that makes them shine brightest. Trust them and their experience when they ask you to consider or try something. You dont have to go with it if you dont like it in the end but you just might be surprised!

DO bring the right accessories.

You can bring shoes, nude undergarments and a bra you are comfortable in to help the process go smoothly. Then relax and let us help you with the rest! Does that ease your mind any? What other Dos and Donts would you add to the list?
